What inspired you to pursue a career in hospice care?
I worked in a skilled nursing facility for three years and found myself very connected with my patients and families who were on hospice services. I always wanted to go above and beyond for those patients and ensure their quality of life was the best it could be in their final days.
How did you first learn about Brighton Hospice?
Brighton was a hospice provider at the skilled nursing facility I was a social worker at. I was blown away by the care Brighton provided to my patients and always had a sense of peace knowing they would be in good hands. The Brighton team members I worked with were exceptional and I always knew Brighton was something I wanted to be a part of.
How long have you been with Brighton?
I have been with Brighton for seven months and I am blessed to be part of such a wonderful company with so many amazing people.
What are your hopes for the hospice care / healthcare industry?
My hopes for hospice care would be that people in the community and healthcare industry continue to be educated and informed on the benefits of hospice services so their loved ones can benefit from the care we provide. I hope that with continued education, the negative connotation around the word “hospice” can be reduced.
